I travel extensively and often I see issues that I wish that I had known prior to booking my trip. Issues like construction being performed at the hotel I’ve booked. Nothing is more disappointing than just getting into your room after a long international flight, only to be interrupted by someone using a hammer drill in the room next to yours. Hotels do not routinely post information about ongoing renovations because they know if they did, you would choose to stay somewhere else. While I can’t inform you of every hotel in the World, at least I can tell you about where I’ve stayed and whether or not it was a good hotel.
Imagine your surprise when you rent a car in Geneva, only to find out when you get there that the agency is on the French side of the airport. While this may seem like a simple thing…it’s NOT! Not only does it take longer to navigate around the airport to the Swiss side, but if you don’t have the green sticker that’s required to enter Switzerland, you will be turned back at the border. My drive to Chamonix, which should have taken one hour and ten minutes, took two and a half hours. Oh yes…and the GPS didn’t work!
